Well, I am back to rekindle my love for Jamie Alexander Fraser. The second book left me in such an emotional turmoil, I just had to know how the drama ends. I cheated and flipped through pages of “Voyager” to get closure some weeks ago but now it is finally time to read and enjoy the book in full…
the author is a very good writer. pick up the book and skim for the anecdotal stories that form the central picture for each chapter. just enjoy them as an interesting observation about learning to be a surgeon. then read the last chapter “the case of the red leg”, then decide if you want to read the whole book.
Lee Child’s work doesn’t have people who like it, but rather people who adore it and are addicted to it. I am one of those people.
This book delivers both more than I expected, yet less than I had hoped for. After reading the introduction, I was expecting much more of a scientific-spiritual bridge between cellular biology and medicine on the one hand and the influence of consciousness and the soul on the body. But in the end, Dr. Chopra focused on the latter.
A unique and worthwhile addition to all the books about our constitution. It provides a view of our contract with the federal government as seen by those who crafted it and by those who, for good or ill, interpreted it. All of us should become more familiar with that wonderful document which has so sufferd from ignorance, abuse, and neglect.
Each book in this series about a werewolf named Kitty is better than the one before! I have enjoyed each book enormously! In this latest one, Kitty agrees, against her better judgment, to participate in a reality show where all the participants are paranormals. So there are vampires, werewolves, psychics, magicians (remember Odysseus Grant? He’s back!). The setup is that there is one participant who is a cynic who does not believe in the paranormal, and they have two weeks to convince him without, hopefully, using the obvious methods (changing into a werewolf right in front of him).
My husband is a retired airline Captain and requested this book for Christmas after he read a short excerpt somewhere. It was only sheer willpower that kept me from reading the book before giving it to him – fortunately he read it relatively quickly so I got my turn before New Year’s day.
